Bible Prophecy: When Will Jesus Return?
The prophecy and hope that Jesus gave his followers should educate and encourage us today. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light. The stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will then see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. Then he will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31

Anticipating the End of This Age (Article)
Immediately After the Great Tribulation
It is clear even from these few prophetic verses that Jesus will come AFTER the Great Tribulation. “Immediately after” means instantaneously, without any lapse of time. Similarly, it denotes a complete absence of delay. Therefore, there will be great signs in the heavens and then Jesus will not delay. Finally, straightway he will make his grand appearing through the clouds with a loud trumpet and with his angels. They dead in Christ will be resurrected to immortality.
