Often you hear, “we don’t do doctrine.”  Or, preachers say,  “I can’t preach doctrine every Sunday.  People need to hear about love and Christian living.”  Doctrines are simply teachings.  Hence, any Biblical teaching is doctrine!  Love and Christian living are doctrine.  Everything Jesus taught is doctrine.  Therefore, we must study and teach all the doctrines of Scripture.

Often the focus is on teachings (doctrines) that are most debated or misunderstood.  These articles represent some of the most misunderstood biblical teachings.  These misunderstood teachings must be a central focus of study and preaching.  true disciples of Jesus desire to know all Bible truth!

The Gospel of the Kingdom

Jesus spent his whole ministry preaching and teaching about the coming Kingdom of God.  In addition, he continued to speak about the Kingdom the 40 days after his resurrection.  If the Gospel of the Kingdom was that important to Jesus, it must be a priority for us as well!

We must understand what happens when we die in order to understand the importance of resurrection!

We all will be resurrected, some to immortality and life in the age to come, and others to judgement and complete destruction in the Lake of Fire.  The believer’s hope and reward is immortality and living forever on the Earth, not going to heaven.

Obviously, it is important to understand who you are calling your God.  Likewise, Jesus said this is of most importance.  We must know the one true God and love Him, just as Jesus did.
